The Rotaract Club of Ottawa is a unique service club in Ottawa for students and young professionals in all fields. We are committed to volunteerism, international service, member development, and having a good time! Rotaract is a global service organization for students and young professionals aged 18 to 30. Rotaract has close ties with Rotary International because each Rotaract Club is sponsored by a Rotary Club. We are fortunate to be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ottawa. Rotary International is guided by the motto “Service Above Self,” and the Rotaract Club of Ottawa is committed to fulfilling this through various service projects, fundraisers and events. We are always welcoming new members and look forward to seeing you at a meeting or community event! Please visit the About Us page for contact information if you have any questions about our Club or committees!

Making A Difference

The Rotaract Club of Ottawa organizes service projects in our community and around the world, including hosting a variety of events to support such causes as PolioPlus (Rotary International’s initiative to eradicate polio), the Ottawa Rotary Home (a home in the Ottawa area providing respite care for children with disabilities), and ShelterBox (another Rotary-led effort to provide emergency shelter and supplies for families in disaster zones). Our members have volunteered with Saint Joe’s Supper Table, Carleton Trick or Eat, the Ronald McDonald House at CHEO, and the Ottawa Rotary home.

Developing Our Members

The Rotaract Club of Ottawa is committed to making our meetings a valuable experience for all those who attend. We bring in a variety of guest speakers such as Jim Watson, Mayor of Ottawa; Vicki Heyman, Cultural Envoy and partner of US Ambassador Bruce Heyman; Lieutenant General Charles Bouchard, Retired Canadian Royal Air Force General and Lockheed Martin Canada lead; and many more interesting speakers covering a variety of fields and interests. Our club has access to a network of community leaders who are eager to work with and mentor our members because of our affiliation with Rotary. The Rotary Club of Ottawa regularly invites our members to their meetings and events, which is an excellent opportunity to network with professionals in different fields and form lasting bonds with our Sponsor Club.

Having Fun

Rotaractors in our Club are fortunate to have many membership-oriented events which help foster fellowship and friendship among our members. Following each general meeting, a fellowship event is held at a local pub where members are invited to stop by for food, beverages, and good company in an informal setting. Other events, such as Chilly Chilli Sunday and our annual Membership Pub Crawl, help bond our members and create lasting memories within our Club.

If you are interested in being part of Rotaract, check out one of our meetings or events! A list of our upcoming meetings and events can be found on the Rotaract Club of Ottawa Calendar. Our meetings are normally held every other Sunday night at Ottawa City Hall (110 Laurier Ave W) at 7:00pm. Our meetings usually involve updates about the great things that our Club is doing and a guest speaker… So come out to a meeting and see what we are all about! For more information, check out our Facebook and Twitter feeds to stay updated on meetings, events and Rotaract-related news, or contact our Membership Director at membership@rotaractottawa.ca!
