What is Rotaract?
Rotaract is a service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30 who are dedicated to community and international service. Its membership totals over 200,000 in more than 8,700 clubs worldwide. Rotaract Clubs are self-governing and self-supporting and can be either university or community based. They provide an opportunity for young adults to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service. Individual Rotary clubs sponsor Rotaract clubs and offer guidance and support, making Rotaract clubs true “partners in service” and key members of the family of Rotary International. We are fortunate to be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ottawa. Rotary and Rotaract clubs around the world are divided into different districts. Our club is a member of Rotaract District 7040 that includes clubs from Eastern Ontario, Montreal and parts of the United States. Rotary District 7040 has Rotary clubs in Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Nunavut and Northern New York state.
